The voyage of Mars through Cancer gives us the opportunity to blend the fiery planet’s initiative with Cancerian concerns for preservation. We’ll want to spend this time carefully building things that honor and acknowledge our connection to the past and to family values. Our urge to move forward during this time doesn’t cut us off from familiar patterns, but includes them, to make for a more gentle and comfortable step into the future.
It’s true that Mars is toned down when it moves through sensitive Cancer, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get anything done. If we learn how to work with the Mars-in-Cancer energy, a great deal can be accomplished. Digging into domestic tasks is one of the best ways to use this transit. Mars in Cancer is a great opportunity to get out your hammer and nails so you can start (or finish) a home improvement project.
You may also feel a greater need to fight for the rights of a family member or a domestic situation during this time. Even though Mars in Cancer prefers using its energy to nurture, it will ultimately do whatever it takes to defend what and whom it cares about. As a result, you may notice that an intensely protective instinct takes over your actions when Mars and Cancer sync up.
The problem with Mars’ transit though cautious Cancer is that rather than taking a direct approach to going after what we want, we take a more passive one. If we don’t feel emotionally connected to something, it’s unlikely we’ll take action. Unfortunately, the action we do take is usually ruled by the heart, and may be more reactive and oversensitive than purposeful.

This phase of the lunar cycle is all about letting go. Like when I had to let go of my favorite Earl Grey tea because it was, unfortunately, decaf. #NotMyCupOfTea
The celestial energies are nudging you to purge anything that's no longer serving you. Are there any clingy Romulans in your life? Or worse, an unresolved issue that's as persistent as a Tribble infestation? Time to beam them out of your personal space.
Don’t worry though, you've got the deflector shields of emotional resilience and intuitive sensitivity on your side. Remember, you are as tenacious as a Borg, but with far better social skills.
Your warp core (read: heart) is powered by love and compassion. Don't forget to harness that energy for yourself as well. If Data can learn to paint, you can certainly learn to love yourself more. #SelfLoveWarp10
Remember, Cancer, resistance to change is futile! Embrace the adventure. And if you need a break, why not enjoy a Holodeck vacation? Just remember, no matter how real it feels, it's not. Kind of like that ex who just doesn't get it. #HolodeckHeartbreak
